Ample evidence of this "on the ground fact" was provided in the "Matched Funding" results.<br /><br />Just as some children need little or no instruction in how to handle the Alphabetic Code, some schools and teachers are doing "good enough" with their current capability. The evidence for this is in Yr 1 Screening Check results. However, the data haven't yet been examined to identify the schools and teachers who could benefit from further training.<br /><br />The "training" would lead to teachers and students doing less to "teach spelling" rather than doing "more," but with all the dysinformation about the substance and structure of the Alphabetic Code that's "out there," teachers and HT's don't know this.<br /><br />Allwegotta do to "get a handle on the problem" is look at the "evidence" that is "hiding in plain sight."
